Innuos announce new Stream Series of streamers/servers
Introducing the Innuos Stream Series: A Closer Look at the Stream1 and Stream3
Innuos has once again raised the bar in high-performance digital audio with the launch of its new Stream Series. Designed to deliver exceptional music streaming capabilities with modular flexibility, the two flagship models—Stream1 and Stream3—aim to serve a wide spectrum of listeners, from the discerning audiophile to those seeking a high-quality, user-friendly experience. Building on Innuos’s long-standing commitment to sound purity and system integration, these new devices reflect a careful balance of advanced engineering and usability.
At the heart of both models is a refined design that prioritises customisation. Users can tailor their system with a choice of high-grade output modules, including reclocked USB, SPDIF, or onboard DACs, allowing seamless integration into a wide range of hi-fi configurations. This modular approach means users are no longer locked into fixed output types, but can adapt the streamer as their system evolves or their needs change.
The Stream1 and Stream3 are powered by a 13th-generation Intel quad-core processor, working in tandem with industrial-grade DDR5 memory to deliver rapid responsiveness and system stability. According to Innuos, these new streamers are up to twice as fast as their previous generation models, ensuring a smoother experience whether browsing large libraries or accessing high-resolution streaming content.
One of the core strengths of the new Stream Series is the native support for the Innuos Sense app. This unified interface brings together local music files and high-resolution streaming services such as Qobuz, TIDAL, Deezer, HighResAudio, and IDAGIO, while also supporting Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Qobuz Connect. The app not only manages all music sources from one place, but also enables playlist creation that spans multiple platforms, alongside access to internet radio and podcasts. For many, this seamless control system will become the central hub of their listening experience.
Innuos has also considered storage flexibility. Both models feature an accessible internal bay that allows users to install their own M.2 SSD for local storage. Additionally, they can stream music from NAS drives, USB-connected storage, or other servers on the network. For those looking to digitise their CD collections, the inclusion of Innuos’s reliable ripping engine is a welcome feature, requiring only a compatible USB optical drive.
With support for Roon Core, UPnP server functionality, and Logitech Media Server, these streamers offer broad compatibility with many popular server environments. They also support multiroom audio when used in Endpoint mode, making them ideal for synchronised playback across multiple rooms in a home system.
Remote control integration adds another level of convenience. Users can assign favourite playlists, radio stations, or smart mixes to numbered buttons for instant access, all via a standard IR remote. This thoughtful feature brings a tactile element back into the digital listening experience.
Where the two models diverge is in their output potential and upgrade options. The Stream3 serves as the more advanced offering, with a broader range of premium output configurations and greater expansion flexibility. Meanwhile, the Stream1 still provides an excellent entry point into high-quality streaming, and can be enhanced further with Innuos’s matching LPS1 linear power supply, allowing users to upgrade sound performance without replacing the core unit.
The Stream Series represents a compelling new direction for Innuos, combining cutting-edge digital audio processing with an architecture built for future growth. For anyone serious about streaming music without compromising on quality or control, both the Stream1 and Stream3 are worth close consideration.
