At its core is a precision-machined 19 mm aerospace-grade aluminium chassis, replacing earlier cast designs. The result is dramatically improved rigidity and consistency, reducing resonance and allowing the music to emerge with greater clarity and control.

The iconic suspended architecture remains, but it has been refined with a new self-centring suspension system that improves stability, lowers the resonant frequency, and enhances timing and pitch accuracy. Vibration control has been further improved with carefully chosen isolation materials and redesigned feet.

Michell has also revisited the bearing and platter system, introducing a revised oil-lubricated bearing for smoother, quieter rotation, alongside a visually cleaner platter design that maintains excellent speed stability while refining the Gyro’s timeless aesthetic.

Motor and power supply updates complete the picture, delivering quieter operation and precise electronic speed control at both 33⅓ and 45rpm.

The Revolv: Michell’s Most Accessible Newcomer — Without Compromise

The Revolv is an entirely new model, designed to sit between Michell’s simpler designs and the full suspended complexity of the Gyro. It’s a turntable that prioritises rigidity, simplicity, and ease of ownership, while still delivering the performance Michell is known for.

Instead of a suspended chassis, the Revolv uses a solid aluminium tooling-plate design, paired with carefully tuned isolation feet. This unsuspended approach offers excellent mechanical grounding, giving the sound a sense of immediacy and clarity that many listeners love.

Like the Gyro, the Revolv benefits from a separate, shielded motor assembly and electronic speed control, reducing vibration and maintaining consistent rotational accuracy. Its inverted bearing design and thoughtfully weighted platter help keep wow and flutter low while preserving detail and musical flow.
