The Pro-Ject Flatten it is a remarkable gadget that uses temperature controlled hot plates to flatten warped records. This record saving device is perfect for rescuing rare and precious records that have become warped over time. Using a safe and gentle process, the Flatten it heats and presses records back to shape.
Improved sound quality
Once your treasured records are flat again, you’ll benefit from improved sound quality, as the stylus is able to track at a consistent rate across the entire record. Pitch instability and harmonic distortion are reduced, giving you a much more stable and ‘solid’ sound. In extreme cases, severely warped records can cause the stylus to skate, especially when using cartridges with a light tracking force. With even stylus pressure across the entire record, uneven record wear is also reduced.
Compatible with all records
Pro-Ject’s Flatten it is compatible with all types and thicknesses of records. You can use it with 78s, 45s and 33s of any thickness. Blanking plates ensure that record labels aren’t damaged in the heating process.
