The DALI Opticon 5 (Mk1) is a compact, stylish floorstanding loudspeaker designed to deliver a detailed, dynamic audio performance suitable for any room size. It incorporates proprietary DALI technologies, including the unique Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) magnet motor system and a hybrid tweeter module, to provide high-end performance at a more accessible price point.
Key Features
Proprietary Drivers: Hand-assembled with in-house built cabinets, the speaker uses DALI's low-loss wood fibre coned woofer and hybrid tweeter.
- Hybrid Tweeter Module: This module combines a 28 mm ultra-light soft dome tweeter and a 17 x 45 mm ribbon tweeter. This blend ensures high power handling, exceptional headroom, and wide, even high-frequency dispersion for a flawless soundstage that reaches beyond the audible range.
- SMC-Based Magnet System: The woofer's magnet motor system utilizes a pole piece made entirely of Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC), which significantly reduces distortion and coloration for a transparent and lifelike sound.
- Wood Fibre Woofer: A 6½-inch, low-loss wood fibre driver ensures a rich, detailed mid-range and precise, coherent bass response with minimal surface resonance.
- Enclosure: It features a bass reflex design with a precisely tuned port, allowing for powerful bass performance despite its compact stature.
- Aesthetics: The speaker is available in high-quality vinyl finishes such as Black Ash, Light Walnut, or White Matt Satin, with a high-gloss front baffle.
