The DV 20X2A is the base model in the Dynavector MC cartridge series, sharing the same core design as the higher-end XX-2A and Te Kaitora Rua models. It features a solid aluminum alloy body, hard aluminum cantilever, and Micro-Ridge stylus tip. You can choose between two types: the 20X2A-L (low output) for standard MC setups, or the 20X2A-H (high output) for most MM inputs. It's perfect for those who want the MC cartridge experience without needing an MC step-up transformer.
High & Low Output Versions
The 20X2A-H delivers a 2.8mV output thanks to Dynavector's renowned coil winding tech, making it compatible with MM inputs on your PHONO terminal without needing a head amp or step-up transformer. The 20X2A-L, with a 0.3mV output, uses the same high-quality PCOCC wires and works well with head amps and MC step-up transformers that have a load impedance of 30Ω or more.
Special Annealing Magnetic Circuit
The core of the MC cartridge, the magnetic circuit, is made from pure iron with stable, low-distortion magnetic properties. By fine-tuning the annealing process—adjusting temperature, environment, and heating/cooling times—we’ve achieved rich, resonant sound with exceptional clarity and minimal distortion.
Neodymium magnets and soft magnets
This series uses patented softened magnets to minimise distortion and harshness typically caused by rare earth magnets, while still delivering high output through powerful neodymium magnets. By harnessing neodymium's strong magnetic force, the cartridge ensures clear sound separation.
Micro-Ridge Stylus
The stylus tip features a Micro-Ridge design with a contact radius of just 2 microns. Its band-like shape makes it highly resistant to wear, ensuring optimal performance for an extended period.
Compliance
The 20X2A series, with a compliance of 12mm/N and a weight of 9.2g, works well with most light to medium-weight tonearms (lighter headshells are recommended).
