The Next Generation
The original Pro-Ject debut was released in the late 1990s during a time when CD was king, and the vinyl format was presumed to be all but gone. Over two decades later the model still stands thanks to its enduring ability to offer exceptional value for money, class leading sound and timeless style.
Made to Perform
The Debut EVO 2 stands out thanks to its premium carbon fibre tonearm. The 8.6” conical tube is super stiff and lightweight, allowing any attached cartridge to traverse the record groove efficiently while also resisting any unwanted vibrations. The tonearm tube is mounted in a CNC-milled aluminium block with low-friction bearings.
First Class Sound
The Debut EVO 2 is supplied with a pre-mounted Pick it MM EVO cartridge. Designed to perfectly suit the carbon fibre tonearm, both technically and aesthetically, the moving magnet cartridge was co-designed with experts at Ortofon, benefiting from the Danish company’s advanced technologies and production processes.
Improved Drive System
The premium belt-drive system features an in-house designed and manufactured AC drive motor, decoupled from the main chassis by TPE, powered by a sophisticated DC/AC power generator. This setup allows for clean and stable power, resulting in excellent rotational stability and minimal vibrations.
Speed change between 33 and 45 RPM is handled by a discrete power switch underneath the plinth. 78 RPM speed can be achieved with an optional pulley and drive belt change, available separately.
Premium Platter
The drive system is completed by the sub-platter and the heavy-damped aluminium main platter. The 1.7kg main platter is die-cast and precision balanced, before being completed with a ring of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), to reduce unwanted resonances. The platter is also anti-magnetic, allowing for easy upgrades to moving coil cartridges in the future.
A Stylish Platform
Structurally, the Debut EVO 2 is most recognised by its expertly finished plinth, available in six satin paint options, three high gloss paint options or a real-wood walnut veneer.
The minimalist rectangular footprint has a timeless elegance and is made of MDF for its excellent anti-resonant properties, which are further enhanced by a new machining process that recesses the RCA junction box into the main chassis for further reduced hollow spaces within the turntable.
The turntable is finished by its three height-adjustable metal feet with TPE-damping in a sleek black finish. The result is a platform free from unwanted vibrations, ideally suited to record playback.
Your System, Your Way
The Debut EVO 2 is easy to set up and use. Once connected to a system with a moving magnet phono stage, it will deliver a deeply impressive sonic performance with lots of detail and musical character. All that’s left is to pick your preferred finish from the extensive list of options available.
The EVO 2 is supplied with the cartridge pre-installed and includes a dust cover, felt mat, and a semi-balanced Connect it E Phono RCA turntable interconnect in the box.
