Product Summary
The Ultrafide U500DC is a high-performance stereo power amplifier designed to bring professional-grade amplifier engineering into a serious home hi-fi system. Handmade in Devon, it draws on decades of experience from MC² Audio’s work in studios, theatres, festivals and live sound, but is built specifically for demanding domestic listening.
Delivering 500 W per channel into 4 Ohms and 250 W per channel into 8 Ohms, the U500DC has the power and control needed to drive a wide range of loudspeakers with confidence. Its dual mono design, oversized 500 VA toroidal transformer and separate power supply architecture help provide strong stereo separation, stable dynamics and controlled low-frequency performance.
Ultrafide’s in-house Ultra Sigma topology uses a modern Class D output stage based on Sigma-Delta modulation, partnered with a Class A input driver stage. The amplifier is fully DC coupled from input to output, helping preserve transient accuracy and keep bass response tight, focused and immediate.
A rear-panel sound character switch lets you choose between Pure Timbre for a cleaner reference-style presentation or Vintage for a warmer tonal balance. With RCA and balanced XLR inputs, dual binding posts per channel and passive cooling, the U500DC is a powerful, flexible and refined power amplifier for high-quality stereo systems.
This is an ex-demonstration model that has been very well cared for. It comes supplied with original boxing and accessories.
